Literacy is a form of programs and activities that currently exist in developing the culture of reading Indonesian society. This is very much supported by the government, seen from the national literacy program and the enactment of Undang-undang No. 3 of 2017 concerning the Bookkeeping System. The incessant literacy movement is related to the increasing number of literacy activists and the growth of Community Reading Parks (TBM), literacy villages and reading rooms in the community. Tanah Ombak is one of the reading rooms in the fishing village of Purus 3 in the coastal area of Padang. Officially established since the end of 2014 and later notarized in 2015 where Syuhendri was the founder and supported by Yusrizal KW. Tanah Ombak is in a poor and alarming condition of the community, where children are very close to the world of evil and speak harshly. This research uses descriptive method, namely by describing the role of Tanah Ombak for the community, what achievements have been achieved, and what programs will be formulated by Tanah Ombak in increasing literacy activities in the community.

Preservation of traditional materials became more successful and systematic after libraries and archives integrated preservation into overall planning and resource allocation. Digital preservation is largely experimental and replete with the risks associated with untested Digital preservation strategies are shaped by the needs and constraints of repositories with little consideration for the requirements of current and future users of digital scholarly resources. Archives contain millions of documents like manuscripts, rare books, paintings, photographs, and historical records. All these constitute human heritage. Paper manuscripts, with the passage of time, are getting fragile and brittle because of various reasons. Lamination does not seem to be a permanent solution of preservation this cultural heritage for posterity. Digitization technology brings with it untold benefits for heritage preservation access. Once a document has been properly digitized, it become immortal and can remain accessible long after the original has ceased to exist. The option of digital access further aids in preservation of originals through reduced need for physical handling. This paper states about need for digital preservation with its objectives in Library environment.

The big challenge facing the library to be known by the millennial generation is the rapid development of information and communication technology. This rapid development makes the millennial generation very easy to obtain information, regardless of the information are fact or hoaxes. This makes the millennial generation lazy to use library facilities because they think, all the information they need can be obtained through the internet. However, using the internet without knowledge can lead to false information. Therefore, they must utilize the services provided by the library to obtain information that is correct and in accordance with their needs. In order for the millennial generation to know about the existence of libraries, special marketing tactics like Guerilla Marketing are needed to attract their interest in utilizing library services.

Communication Management is basically a process of communication activities between individuals in an organization that must be done with rational ways of thinking to achieve the goals set through cooperation with others. In libraries, a librarian can build relationships both inside and outside the library if it can carry out communication and self-assessment management. With the management of librarians communication can carry out organizational communication between individual librarians, supervisors and users. The management of librarian communication and librarian's self-assessment are likened to Russian Matouschka dolls which have 4 layers of dolls, which cause (orientation) the interaction in a library. The process of fostering and developing reading interest in readers is well and effective, if the librarian must first be able to recognize and understand himself in communicating.

This study aims to find out how the use of the internet in the Surau Parabek Virtual Community in the cultivation of writing members. This qualitative field research collected data using interview techniques and documentation. The interview was done virtually by contacting the editor in chief directly. This study found that philosophically, technology is used as a tool to make it easier to interact among virtual communities. Virtual communities are people who interact no longer use space in physical form but tend to interact with virtual space in this case the internet. Surau Parabek Virtual Community conducts all cultural planting activities to write virtual community members by using the internet as a tool.

This is a quantitative research which talks about burnout level of library service’s staff at BPAD DKI Jakarta library. The instrument of this research is “Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI)”. The data was collected by spreading questionnaires to 30 respondents. The research was done to measure three variables of burnout, they are physical saturation, emotional saturation, and the achievement of self. The result shows that 7% staff of BPAD library service have been identified as burnout. The burnout were particularly caused by physical saturation. According to MBI standard, the burnout level of library service’s staff is on the first level. It means that the library service’s staff could manage stress as well.

Abst ract This research aims to analyze transfer of Indigenous knowledge activities undertaken by local institutions Bundo Kanduang in preserving indgenous knowledge ‘Adaik Salingka Nagari’. This research background consistency Bundo Kanduang in sustaining the cultural values of the policy in the midst of the battle the wave of globalization and Westernization in Minangkabau community. This research use the paradigm of constructivism. The research method used is qualitative method with the case study approach is used to express the reality in the field. Research data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation study. The conclusions of this research are as follows: local knowledge transfer activities undertaken by Bundo Kanduang as individuals within the family nucleus (nuclear family), and the family house (complex family), as organizations in the public, and education institutions, sharing knowledge Adaik Salingka Nagari Bundo Kanduang in organizations is done, and the exchange of knowledge, done by exchanging experiences with other organizations that are similarly engaged in community empowerment.

Philosophy of library can be interpreted as knowledge or knowledge that learns about the nature, basis or principle of librarianship (the science and profession of librarians). Practically (in practice), library philosophy has many roles in providing alternatives to solving various problems faced by society, and provides direction, solutions, thoughts, opinions on its success, development of knowledge, fulfillment of information, decision making, work behavior of librarians, user behavior, including providing quality services. As a new foundation, analysis and design of library philosophy and information can explain and guide the purpose of compiling the librarian intellectual environment, and provide systematic treatment of the conceptions of the foundations of a librarian environment.

The Research and Publishing Center (LPPM) of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang on May 4, 2017 held a Short-Course for Writing Scientific Work as an effort to arouse the spirit and tradition of writing for young writers on campus. Academically and intra-curricularly, debriefing theoretical and technical abilities has been passed through lectures on Research Methods in field training / assignments. But it turns out that there are still many resources that have not yet become true, capable and fluent in applying research design. The training participants consisted of students from the undergraduate and postgraduate programs of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang from various departments / faculties. Active participants who have made activities using 29 final works of writing. From the collection of texts the participants of the short course in general can be seen as follows: a. The theme of Writing Culture, a theme that has a tangent point in scientific substance, the theme of bodies, zombies and humans.
